Fixed-Wing Aerial Patrol Services

Eyes on your pipeline, every mile, every patrol.

AVCO Patrol flies scheduled aerial patrols of pipelines and powerlines across the central United States — spotting leaks, encroachments, and right-of-way threats before they become incidents.

What We Do

Aerial patrol and inspection services

Regularly scheduled low-altitude patrols are the most cost-effective way to monitor hundreds of miles of linear infrastructure. Our pilots are trained observers who know what a problem looks like from the air — and report it the same day.

Pipeline Patrol

Scheduled right-of-way patrols for natural gas and liquids pipelines: leak indications, exposed pipe, washouts, dead vegetation, and third-party activity near the line.

Powerline Patrol

Transmission and distribution line patrols identifying damaged structures, vegetation encroachment, and storm damage across long rural corridors.

Encroachment & Leak Detection

Trained-observer detection of unauthorized construction, excavation near the right-of-way, and surface indications of leaks — with prompt, documented reporting.

Compliance Reporting

Patrol documentation that supports DOT/PHMSA patrol-frequency requirements, with per-patrol reports your integrity team can file and audit.

Aerial Photography & Survey

Photo and video documentation of assets, rights-of-way, construction progress, and storm damage along your corridor.

Special & Emergency Patrols

On-call flights after storms, seismic events, one-call tickets, or suspected third-party damage — when you need eyes on the line fast.

Why Aerial Patrol

Hundreds of miles a day. One trained set of eyes.

Ground patrols cover a few dozen miles a day and can't see past the fence line. A fixed-wing patrol covers entire systems in a single flight, at a fraction of the cost per mile — and catches the things that cause the expensive incidents: unreported excavation, slow leaks, and washouts.

  • Low-altitude, slow-flight observation by pilots trained on pipeline and powerline threats
  • Fixed-wing efficiency — the lowest cost per patrol mile in the industry
  • Same-day reporting of findings, with photos and locations
  • Flexible patrol frequency: weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or on-call

The economics are simple

A single third-party strike on a transmission line can cost more than a decade of aerial patrol. Scheduled patrol is the cheapest insurance a pipeline operator can buy.

500+ miles

can be patrolled in a single flight day by one fixed-wing aircraft and observer.

About AVCO Patrol

Patrol is all we do

AVCO Patrol LLC operates a fleet of fixed-wing aircraft purpose-suited to low-altitude patrol work: slow, stable, and efficient. Our pilots fly the same lines patrol after patrol, so they know your right-of-way — and notice when something changes.

We've been around over 20 years, having recently spun out of Hawkeye Helicopter. We know airplanes and can use them to make your operations more efficient!
